Smile. In the rising dawn. In the evening that is born. In the song of the wind. In the silences of a music by Messiaen. In Soulage's overseas territories. In the incessant whirlwinds of thoughts. In the fires of Saint John. Under the ice of the December roads. Smile. When the shadow announces incandescent darkness. When the soul bends under the frozen body. When swallows tag the sky with strange writing. When the noise of sources fades. Smile. At the end of a coffee room pierced with light. In the hollow of the earth when the grass mosses under the stones with derisory inscriptions. Smile. In memory of immarcescible flowers. --- This text was written in rebound from the painted work, like a song where the painting would be the music and the words would be the lyrics. For several years, these texts have been collected and edited. The work is part of a series "CAFÉS" which has 31 paintings as of December 28, 2019. These are genre scenes with an exchange between several characters.
