In the tradition of self-portraits with a mirror, the painter has composed a set in which he represents himself in the process of creation. He has portrayed himself four times: from the rear 3/4 - from the front in the mirror - drawing in charcoal on paper - and, at the bottom left, as a blue monochrome self-portrait in the style of Andy Warhol. It is also a kind of wink referring to a path going from Warhol to Van Gogh whose artist uses a floral motif from the Dutch master at the top of the canvas.
